Recreational Ski Racing

Recreational ski racing is open to all skiers on any skill level. All skiers will glide all the way down from the hill right on top of the Sunnyside Lift. Alta pins will be awarded once your time qualifies for a Gold, Silver, or Bronze medal which is also based on a handicap system and is determined through a pace setters time. Participants will also receive the Alta pin if ever his/her skiing time will not qualify for a medal.

Guided Ski and Snowshoe Tours
Grab those winter gears and get ready for an action packed adventure at the slopes. Take advantage of the guided ski and snowshoe tours with the resort’s highly trained guides. Aside from carrying an extra load for you, they will also teach you skiing techniques that is appropriate for every kind of trail in the mountains.

Professional Run Racing
Aside from the recreational skiing race, Alta Ski Area also holds the Alta Town Series which is a more organized ski racing. The race is open to all skiers regardless of the experience in skiing for as long as they can finish the 8 Slaloms. Races are held every Tuesdays for the “A” and “B” leagues open for men and women.

SKE-COLOGY
Discover Alta’s rich history through an environmental educational program – the SKE-COLOGY. This fun and exciting way of exploring Alta’s hidden gems and historical past has been offered by the Children’s Ski Adventures. This interactive course will take both the young and adults to the exciting Albion Basin and its fascinating ecosystem.

Snowcat Skiing
The Alta Ski Area offers the finest trails and runs that have become the favorite skiing grounds of the locals as well as the professionals. Just adjacent to the ski area is the vast powders suited for Snowcat skiing that can reach to as high as 10,500 feet. This thrilling experience is only offered to the advanced and expert skiers.

Classic Skiing
For a wholesome adventure at Alta Ski Area, try the 5 km of groomed tracks where you can enjoy classical skiing. Kids can spend an all day adventure sliding and gliding in the powdery tracks at the base portion of the resort. If you prefer the mid mountain adventure then hop on the Sunnyside Lift and ski all the way down.

Snowmobiling
If the thrills of speeds makes a perfect winter adventure then hop on the snowmobiles and get ready for some action at the trails. These mobiles allow every skier an access to the resort’s difficult trails especially during winter season. There are also snowmobile tours offered by several companies along the Alta Ski Area.

Snowshoeing
Put on those ski boots and tromp around the powdery snow of Alta Ski Resort. One of the best ways to explore the snowy mountains is through snowshoeing which is also considered as an exciting activity for the entire family. Aside from exploring the vast trails, this activity also serves as a great exercise.
